Domestic property conversion and extension. The scheme involved creation of single storey rear extension with extensive rear opening and re-configuration of the ground floor; removing load bearing walls to create an open plan layout.

Details

Structures Made Easy Ltd was approached by the client to design both sub and super structures of the proposed building. Design details included traditional strip foundations as well as the insertion of a steel ‘box frame’ arrangement. The box frame was installed underneath the primary loadbearing wall to the rear of the house. Other steel beams were installed to support the concrete floor and walls above. The flat roof was constructed from traditional timber with large glazed panels.
