Structures Made Easy Ltd. was appointed to design all structural elements associated with the removal of load bearing walls. Long spans meant large section size steel beams; however, due to tall and flexible headroom space light UB type universal beams were adopted for easier construction and handling on site. The beams rested on concrete padstones which spread the load at the party walls. In addition, small steel box sections hidden within partition walls were also used to support internal ends of beams. The client also appointed Structures Made Easy Ltd to undertake all the associated party wall matters including the issuing of the party wall notices to the adjoining property.
