Domestic conversion with single-story rear extension. The scheme involved internal remodelling with the removal of load bearing walls as well as an extension to create an open plan layout.

Details

Structures Made Easy Ltd was approached by the client to design both sub and super structures of the proposed project. The ground floor was extended and supported by a ‘box frame’ steel structure as well as steel beams under load bearing walls to add additional space and achieve an open plan layout. The design details also included traditional strip foundations. The flat roof was constructed from traditional timber and featured a large skylight.
