Details
Structures Made Easy Ltd. was appointed to design all structural elements of the proposed project. Foundations to the new extension were formed in concrete with a new ground floor slab. The large ground floor area at the rear of the property was completely opened up with the removal of the internal walls and the existing footprint of the building was extended full width. This created an open plan kitchen, dining and living space. Steel box frames were utilised for efficiency in the structural design of this area. Large glazed panel sliding doors were installed to the rear of the extension, in conjunction with multiple rooflights in the new flat roof and a large glazed panel was specified to the side of the extension to create an area flooded with natural light. A section of the first floor was also extended to the rear to modernise the master bedroom, with the inclusion of a new duo pitched roof with Velux windows. Finally, additional support structure was added to create a new bedroom within the conversion of the existing loft space.
