Details
Structures Made Easy Ltd. was appointed by the architect to be the project structural engineer and design both sub and super structures of the proposed development. Extensive structural surveys were carried out on both buildings in order to provide the best possible design solution for this unique development. The architect’s design and the client’s vision were maintained through the use of glazing, steel and timber to give the building a modern look. The ground floor wall was removed to create a large new living space. Cranked frames and ridge beams were introduced to support the vaulted roof of the warehouse as well as stabilise the wall panels. Square hollow section (SHS) columns were hidden within walls to remain flush and satisfy the style of the architectural design.
