Details
Structures Made Easy Ltd. was appointed by the client to design all structural elements of the proposed project. Foundations to the new extension were formed in concrete with a new concrete ground floor slab. The existing outrigger side wall was completely removed at ground floor and the existing rear window was knocked through to create access to the new extension. Steel beams were used to support the first floors and walls above to create natural flowing spaces throughout the ground floor. The extension’s new flat roof was formed in timber joists with a large skylight to allow lots of natural light into the new kitchen area of the open plan kitchen space. Chimney breasts were removed at ground and first floors. The first floor bathroom and bedroom at the rear of the property were refurbished to include a new modern bathroom.
