Domestic property conversion, extension and balcony installation. The scheme involved adding a single-story extension, converting the property by removing some internal load bearing walls and the construction of a rear balcony.

Details

Structures Made Easy Ltd. was approached by the architect to design both sub and super structures of the proposed project. Being on the main road, the structure needed to be retained to maintain the stability of the building. The internal alterations created voids within floors and vaulted ceilings which required steel trimmers and ridge beams to stabilise the roof. Steel beams were also needed to support the removal of load bearing walls. The rear balcony was constructed from steel and timber and traditional pad foundations to support the circular steel posts of the balcony.
